These Cell Phone Plans For Seniors Can Save You Money

If you're looking to stay connected with friends and family and you're a senior citizen, it has never been easier thanks to several cell phone plans that have been carefully selected and discounted for seniors.

These plans are offered by some of America's biggest cell phone providers and through several specialty cell phone networks that piggyback on the nation's best cellular providers' phone networks. To avoid the overwhelming decision-making process when choosing a cell phone plan, we've selected some of the country's best options.

AT&T Unlimited 55+

AT&T offers a senior discount for 1 or 2 lines. Seniors who require two phones pay $60 per month while a single line costs $80. For those prices, you gain access to unlimited talk, text, and data in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

AT&T also provides free texting to 120_ countries and the company provides free fraud blocking spam alerts to help seniors avoid fraud attempts.

Verizon Unlimited 55+ Plus Plan

The Verizon Unlimited 55+ plan is more expensive than AT&T's offer but it also provides far superior coverage in terms of phone and data usage. The plan starts at a moderately low $40 per line for up to two lines.

For that price seniors receive unlimited talk and text along with unlimited data. This plan also provides free talk and text to Canada, opening up even more communication options for seniors.

We love this plan because it's not restrictive like some other cell phone plans for seniors and there is no chance of surprise billing for overages.

Sprint Unlimited 55+ PlanThe Sprint Unlimited 55+ Plan is a great option for anyone 55 years or older who want full flexibility with their mobile phone plans.

Sprint offers 2 lines of Unlimited use for $35/month/line. For that price seniors and "almost seniors" receive access to unlimited talk, text, and data.

Sprint also provides global roaming in over 200 popular destinations around the world and unlimited use of its fairly robust mobile hotspot network which allows customers to connect all of their devices to the internet while outside of the home.

Keep in mind, this plan's pricing is based on two lines, if you want just one phone activated the cost jumps to $50 per month. Sprint also requires AutoPay to be activated to take advantage of this program.

TracFone $30 Monthly Plan

TracFone isn't a senior service provider in the true sense but the company's plans offer steep discounts and they specialize in providing cost-saving phones for seniors who don't necessarily want the newest iPhone on the market.

While various pre-paid plans are available, we suggest the $30/month option. Under this plan customers pay $30 for 30-days of service. The plan includes Unlimited Talk and Text and 3 GB of data usage. We also really love the fact that there's no activation fee.

If you're not a heavy data user this plan provides unlimited data carry over for unused data each month. Plus, you can change your plan at any time because there's no contract to sign. If you're worried about remembering to pay your monthly prepaid fee, the company also offers an autopay refill feature that activates when your monthly plan as expired.

Consumer Cellular Offers Many Senior Plans With No Monthly Contracts

Consumer cellular has made a name for itself by serving seniors. The company's cell phone plans don't disappoint with various options that require no contract. If you're a heavy user you can pay $60 per month for unlimited talk, text, and data. Add a second line and you get those features for just $37.50 per line.

If you don't require unlimited data a single line plan with unlimited talk and text and 3GB of data costs just $30 for a single line or $22.50 per month for two lines.

One of the best features about Consumer Cellular is the ability to quickly choose how many lines you want to activate and then select easy to understand plan options based on that selection.

If you're an AARP customer you'll also save an additional 5% off each plan based on the listed pricing. Consumer Cellular has made a name for itself by focusing on seniors but its plans are available to people of all ages.

If you are a senior, you may enjoy the company's focus on providing phones that range from simple flip options to high-end smartphones, plus they will help you make an informed buying decision based on your own personal needs.
